The Challenge
The Greek Air Traffic Control Authority (HASP) contracted To70 to conduct a capacity study of the seven main airports in Greece. This capacity assesment should include all airport subsystems ranging from the apron to the airspace.
Our Approach
To70 carried out several site visits and consultations with involved stakeholders to understand local operational practice and perceived capacity limitations. With the input collected during the visits, we created 7 simulation models, one for each airport, and analysed the current operational bottlenecks. Our findings and recommendations for alleviation of identified capacity constraints were captured in seven independent capacity reports. These then informed regulatory decisions on future capacity developments in the region.
